Bharglob 16.5% Injection is an immunostimulant medication classified under immunoglobulin derivatives, featuring Human Normal Immunoglobulin as its active ingredient. This drug serves as a replacement therapy for those suffering from primary immunodeficiency disorders (PIDs), where the immune system fails to generate adequate antibodies to combat infections.
Additionally, it is utilized to modulate or regulate the immune system in specific autoimmune and inflammatory conditions, aiding in the reduction of excessive inflammation and the suppression of abnormal immune responses.
This medication is contraindicated for individuals with known hypersensitivity or allergies to it or any of its components. If you experience a rash or any skin symptoms, discontinue use immediately and consult your doctor. Those with selective IgA deficiency may face the risk of developing antibodies against IgA.
In such instances, normal human immunoglobulin should be administered with caution or avoided entirely. It is essential to inform your physician if you have a history of IgA deficiency. Following the administration of Bharglob 16.5% Injection, a temporary reduction in white blood cell concentration, known as neutropenia (low neutrophil count), may occur, but this typically resolves on its own within a week.
The use of normal human immunoglobulin may affect the efficacy of live attenuated vaccines, so it is recommended to refrain from live vaccinations for a specific duration after receiving this medication. An overdose of Bharglob 16.5% Injection could result in fluid overload, especially in patients with pre-existing heart failure or impaired renal function.
Patients with these conditions should be closely monitored during the infusion process. Notify your doctor of any heart, thyroid, kidney, or liver diseases. Your physician may prescribe a lower dosage and conduct regular blood tests. It is important to discuss the use of this medication during pregnancy or breastfeeding with your healthcare provider.
