Zybiraa 500mg Tablet contains the active ingredient abiraterone acetate, a medication primarily prescribed for the treatment of prostate cancer in adult men, particularly when the disease has metastasized (spread to other parts of the body). It is commonly administered in combination with a corticosteroid to reduce the risk of potential side effects. In cases of early-stage prostate cancer, Zybiraa is used alongside testosterone-lowering therapy to enhance treatment efficacy.
This medication is strictly intended for use in adult men and should not be used by women or children. Since it may cause harm to an unborn child, effective contraception must be used during treatment and for a period afterward, as advised by your healthcare provider.
Zybiraa 500mg Tablet contains lactose and sodium, so it is important to inform your doctor if you have lactose intolerance or are on a sodium-restricted diet. Additionally, inform your physician if you have a history of or currently suffer from liver disease, high blood pressure, heart problems, low potassium levels, diabetes, or allergic disorders.
Before initiating treatment, make sure to disclose all medications you are currently taking, including prescription drugs, over-the-counter medications, vitamins, and herbal supplements, as drug interactions may occur.
Common side effects associated with Zybiraa 500mg include fluid retention (especially in the feet or legs), elevated blood pressure, and diarrhea. Some individuals may also experience a decrease in red blood cell count and reduced libido (sex drive).
It is important to note that this medication should not be used concurrently with Ra-223 (radium-223 dichloride), a drug also used for treating prostate cancer, due to potential harmful interactions.
