Vosicaz Tablet is classified as an ‘antifungal’ medication used to treat a wide variety of infections caused by fungi and yeast. A fungal infection occurs when a fungus invades and affects any area of the body, including the mouth, throat, esophagus, lungs, bladder, genital region, and bloodstream.
The active ingredient in Vosicaz Tablet is ‘Voriconazole’, which works by killing or inhibiting fungi or yeast through the blockage of an enzyme in fungi that is essential for their normal fat metabolism, thereby disrupting the formation of the fungal cell membrane. Consequently, this leads to the death of fungal or yeast cells or significantly reduces their growth.
It is important to take Vosicaz Tablet exactly as directed by your healthcare provider. You should continue taking Vosicaz Tablet for the duration prescribed by your doctor, based on your specific medical condition. In some instances, you may encounter common side effects such as vomiting, headaches, nausea, abnormal liver function tests, rashes, slow heart rate, and changes in vision. Most of these side effects are not serious and will gradually resolve on their own. However, if you experience these side effects persistently, it is advisable to consult your doctor.
Do not use Vosicaz Tablet if you have previously had an allergic reaction to it or any of its components. Vosicaz Tablet has been linked to liver toxicity, which can be fatal in patients with other serious underlying health issues. Additionally, Vosicaz Tablet is classified as a pregnancy category D medication, meaning it should not be used by pregnant or breastfeeding women. While taking Vosicaz Tablet, it is recommended to avoid sun exposure, as it can increase your sensitivity to UV rays, or to use a high sun protection factor (SPF) when outdoors. Antacids should be taken at least 2 hours after consuming Vosicaz Tablet.
