BILYPSA

Bilypsa Tablet is an antidiabetic medication containing the active ingredient Saroglitazar. It belongs to a class of drugs known as dual peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor (PPAR) agonists. This medication is primarily used to manage diabetic dyslipidemia—an abnormal lipid profile commonly seen in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus—and hypertriglyceridemia, particularly in individuals who do not respond adequately to statin therapy alone.

Saroglitazar works by acting on both PPAR-α and PPAR-γ receptors, which play essential roles in regulating lipid and glucose metabolism. Activation of these receptors helps lower triglyceride levels, improve insulin sensitivity, and maintain better glycemic control.

Do not take Bilypsa Tablet if you are allergic to Saroglitazar or any of the components of this medicine. Before starting treatment, it is important to inform your doctor if you have any pre-existing liver or kidney disorders, a history of muscle-related issues, or if you suffer from or are at risk for heart failure. While weight gain and fluid retention are uncommon, rapid weight gain or swelling in the limbs could be signs of developing heart complications and should be promptly reported.

This medication is not recommended for children, as its safety and efficacy in pediatric populations have not been established. If you are pregnant, suspect you might be, planning to conceive, or breastfeeding, consult your doctor before beginning treatment with Bilypsa Tablet to ensure it is safe for your condition.
