Sorvate C Ointment is utilized for the treatment of psoriasis. Psoriasis is a skin condition characterized by the rapid multiplication of skin cells, resulting in uneven, bumpy red patches that are covered with white scales. These red patches frequently manifest on areas such as the scalp, elbows, knees, and lower back.

Sorvate C Ointment comprises Clobetasol propionate (a corticosteroid) and Calcitriol (Vitamin D3). Clobetasol propionate inhibits the production of prostaglandins, which are chemical messengers that cause the skin to become red, swollen, and itchy. Calcitriol, a synthetic form of Vitamin D, reduces the excessive production of skin cells, which contributes to the development of scales and patches associated with psoriasis. In combination, Sorvate C Ointment effectively addresses psoriasis.

Sorvate C Ointment is intended for external application only. Your physician will determine the appropriate dosage and duration of treatment based on your specific medical condition. Common side effects associated with Sorvate C Ointment include a burning or stinging sensation, itching, redness, dryness, and irritation at the application site. These side effects typically do not necessitate medical intervention and will gradually subside over time. However, if these effects persist for an extended period, it is advisable to consult your physician.

It is important to avoid contact with Sorvate C Ointment in the eyes, nose, or mouth. If contact occurs, rinse the area thoroughly with water. Sorvate C Ointment should not be used to treat acne, rosacea (facial flushing around the nose), or perioral dermatitis (red or scaly rashes around the mouth). Pregnant and breastfeeding women should only use Sorvate C Ointment after proper consultation and with caution. Additionally, Sorvate C Ointment is not recommended for children under the age of 12.
