Zoldonat 4mg Injection contains zoledronic acid, a potent bisphosphonate used to manage elevated calcium levels in the blood (hypercalcemia), particularly when caused by tumors. In tumor-induced hypercalcemia (TIH), cancer accelerates the breakdown of bone, which releases excessive calcium into the bloodstream. Zoldonat works by inhibiting this bone resorption, helping to restore normal calcium levels.

In addition to managing calcium levels, Zoldonat is prescribed to prevent skeletal complications in patients with multiple myeloma or solid tumors that have metastasized to the bone. It is also beneficial in the treatment and prevention of osteoporosis in both postmenopausal women and men, as well as in individuals using corticosteroids, which can increase the risk of bone loss. Another approved use is in treating Paget’s disease, a chronic condition characterized by soft, deformed, and fragile bones.

It’s important to note that Zoldonat is not a chemotherapy drug and does not act directly against cancer cells. Instead, its role is to manage bone-related complications of cancer and other bone-weakening conditions. Before beginning treatment, patients should inform their doctor of any existing kidney or liver conditions, dental issues, or if they experience symptoms like jaw pain or swelling, which may indicate osteonecrosis of the jaw—a rare but serious side effect.

This medication is not suitable for children or adolescents under 18 and should not be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Always follow your physician’s guidance closely, as Zoldonat requires careful administration and monitoring
