Biotrexate 2.5mg tablet contains the active substance Methotrexate, an anti-metabolite and immunosuppressant drug. It is used to treat various types of cancer in adults, including acute lymphocytic leukemia (ALL), meningeal leukemia, non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, soft tissue and bone sarcoma, cutaneous T-cell lymphoma, breast cancer, and head and neck cancer. Beyond oncology, it is also indicated for the treatment of severe psoriasis (a skin disease characterized by red, scaly patches) and rheumatoid arthritis (a chronic inflammatory disease of the joints) in adults.

You should not use Biotrexate 2.5mg tablet if you are allergic to methotrexate or any of its other ingredients. It is also contraindicated if you have kidney or liver problems, blood disorders, a weakened immune system, or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Immediately inform your physician if you experience symptoms such as spitting and coughing up blood, general muscle weakness, vision disturbance, or changes in thinking, memory, and orientation problems. This medicine may impair fertility; therefore, it is crucial to avoid getting pregnant during the treatment and for six months after the last dose.
