Bortecad 2mg Injection is a chemotherapy medication belonging to the class of proteasome inhibitors, with Bortezomib as its active ingredient. It is indicated for the treatment of multiple myeloma, a cancerous progression of plasma cells primarily found in the bone marrow, and mantle cell lymphoma, a less common cancer affecting the lymph nodes. This medication is often used concomitantly with other chemotherapy medicines such as pegylated liposomal doxorubicin, rituximab, cyclophosphamide, doxorubicin, dexamethasone, prednisolone, or thalidomide, particularly for patients who have not yet started treatment and are ineligible for a blood stem cell transplant.

Common side effects associated with Bortecad 2mg Injection include pneumonia, loss of appetite, sensitivity, tingling and burning sensation of the skin, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, mouth ulcers, constipation, muscle and bone pain, hair loss, fever, infections, itching, redness, dehydration, stomach problems, among others. You should inform your physician if any of these side effects are bothersome or persist.

It is crucial to inform your doctor if you are allergic to Bortecad 2mg Injection or any of its ingredients. Do not use this medication if you have severe lung or heart problems. Before starting treatment with this medication, let your physician know if you are suffering from neuropathy (nerve malfunction), cardiac disorders, severe lung problems, pulmonary disorders, posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome disorders, gastrointestinal disorders, thrombocytopenia (low platelet count), neutropenia (low white blood cell count), tumor lysis syndrome (metabolic abnormalities that can occur as a complication during the treatment of cancer), or hepatic disorders. Also, inform your doctor if you have diabetes, as this injection can affect your blood glucose levels
