Evermil 5mg tablet is a significant antineoplastic drug that belongs to the class of mTOR kinase inhibitors, containing the active ingredient everolimus. It is effectively used to treat various advanced cancers, including advanced breast cancer, renal cell carcinoma, pancreatic neuroendocrine tumours, and also specifically in the treatment of subependymal giant cell astrocytoma (which are tumors typically found in the ventricles of the brain). Maintaining good oral hygiene and undergoing regular dental check-ups are critically important during the treatment period, as this medicine can potentially cause sores or ulcers in the mouth. For the treatment of subependymal giant cell astrocytoma, it is often combined with cyclophosphamide, an alkylating agent.

Before taking this medicine, it is absolutely necessary to be aware that your risk of getting bacterial or viral infections significantly increases with this treatment. If you have a history of being infected with Hepatitis B, Evermil 5mg tablet increases the chances of reinfection. You must tell your healthcare provider immediately if you experience fever, chills, cough, yellowing of the skin, joint pain, or swelling during the course of this treatment. It is also essential to limit your exposure to direct sunlight and UV light by consistently wearing protective clothing and frequently applying sunscreen, as this medicine may notably increase your risk of developing certain cancers. Furthermore, avoid taking grapefruit juice or grapefruit while taking this medicine, as it can interfere with its action.

This tablet is not recommended for adolescents and children under the age of 18. You should contact your doctor immediately if you experience shortness of breath, chest pain, or a worsening cough. During the Evermil 5mg tablet treatment, your doctor may periodically monitor your white blood cell counts, platelets, blood sugar levels, electrolytes, and kidney parameters to help prevent serious complications, as this medicine has the potential to cause kidney problems. It is crucial to report to your doctor if you have been diagnosed with liver disorders, heart failure, high blood cholesterol levels, or hypertension before beginning this treatment. Finally, you must avoid live vaccines and close contact with individuals who have recently received live vaccines.
