Revugam 50 mg Tablet is indicated for the treatment of low blood platelet counts in individuals suffering from idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP) and hepatitis C virus (HCV) infections. Additionally, it is utilized to manage severe aplastic anemia (SAA) in adults. Idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura is an autoimmune disorder characterized by reduced platelet levels. Hepatitis C refers to an infection and inflammation of the liver caused by the hepatitis C virus. Severe aplastic anemia occurs when the bone marrow fails to produce sufficient blood cells.

Revugam 50 mg Tablet contains Eltrombopag, which is classified as a ‘thrombopoietin receptor agonist.’ Thrombopoietin is a glycoprotein hormone that promotes the development of megakaryocytes (large cells in the bone marrow) and regulates platelet production. The action of Revugam 50 mg Tablet involves enhancing the number of these megakaryocytes, which in turn stimulates platelet production. Consequently, Revugam 50 mg Tablet aids in increasing the count of these bone marrow cells, thereby reducing the risk of bleeding by elevating platelet levels.
