This medication is utilized for the treatment of non-small cell lung cancer and malignant pleural mesothelioma, which are types of lung and chest cancers. It can be administered alone or in conjunction with another anticancer drug, such as cisplatin. To mitigate side effects, your physician may also prescribe corticosteroids, folic acid, and vitamin B12.

Prior to each infusion, blood tests will be conducted to assess your kidney and liver functions, as well as to ensure you have an adequate number of blood cells to safely receive this medication.
