PENTAXIM

The Pentaxim vaccine includes an acellular or inactivated form of diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, poliomyelitis, and Haemophilus type b conjugate as its active ingredient. This vaccine is designed to protect your child from Diphtheria, Tetanus, Pertussis, Poliomyelitis, and infections caused by Haemophilus influenzae type B. It can be administered to children starting at 2 months of age, or according to the immunization schedule and guidelines recommended by healthcare professionals.

However, the Pentaxim vaccine does not provide protection against infections from other types of Haemophilus influenzae, nor does it guard against meningitis caused by different organisms. If your child has a known allergy to vaccines or their components, consult your doctor. Additionally, inform your doctor if your child has a fever or any other health concerns or blood clotting issues before vaccination. The vaccine can be given at the same time as the measles-mumps-rubella vaccine or any other hepatitis B (recombinant) vaccine, but they must be administered at different injection sites. If your child was born prematurely, please inform your doctor, as the vaccine may lead to breathing difficulties for 2-3 days in such cases.
