Mostim 24mg injection is an antineoplastic containing the active ingredient Plerixafor. It is primarily used in the process of collecting, storing, and transplanting blood stem cells. It also finds application in managing conditions such as lymphoma (white blood cell cancer), multiple myeloma (plasma cell cancer in bone marrow), or a solid tumor.
Before starting treatment, inform your doctor if you have or have had any heart disease. Also, notify your doctor if you have high white blood cell (WBC) counts, low platelet counts, or a history of unusual lightheadedness or fainting, especially before receiving the injection. This medicine is not advised for stem cell mobilization if you have leukemia.
Do not take this tablet if you are allergic to Plerixafor or any other medicine ingredients. If you have kidney disorders, notify your doctor as they may need to adjust the dose of Mostim 24mg. Your doctor may also perform regular blood tests to monitor your blood cell count.
Do not take this tablet if you are pregnant, planning to get pregnant, think you might be pregnant, or if you are breastfeeding. It is strongly recommended to use effective contraception during treatment. Report to your doctor immediately if you experience any side effects such as rashes or swelling around your eyes, a change in breathing (indicating lack of oxygen), or pain in the upper left abdomen or left shoulder
