Iritero-100 Injection 5 ml is classified as an antineoplastic medication, commonly referred to as a chemotherapy drug, that is primarily utilized for the management or treatment of colorectal cancer, which is a type of cancer that arises in the colon or rectal tissue. This condition is characterized by the uncontrolled growth of cells in the colon or rectum.

Iritero-100 Injection 5 ml contains Irinotecan, which functions by inhibiting an enzyme known as topoisomerase I. This enzyme is essential for all cells to divide and proliferate. By blocking this enzyme, Irinotecan prevents cancer cells from dividing, thereby inhibiting their growth and proliferation.

Iritero-100 Injection 5 ml should only be administered to patients in a hospital environment under the supervision of a physician who is adequately trained and experienced in administering cancer chemotherapeutic agents. The most frequently reported adverse reactions include nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea, constipation, anorexia (a type of eating disorder), neutropenia (a significantly low count of neutrophils), leukopenia (which may include lymphocytopenia), anemia (a deficiency of healthy red blood cells), asthenia (unusual weakness), fever, weight loss, and alopecia (hair loss). It is advisable to consult your doctor if you experience any of these side effects persistently.

Do not use Iritero-100 Injection 5 ml if you have a known allergy to it. This medication can cause harm to a fetus if administered to a pregnant woman. It is crucial to avoid becoming pregnant during treatment and for several months following therapy. Effective contraceptive methods are recommended while receiving treatment with Iritero-100 Injection 5 ml. If you or your partner becomes pregnant during therapy, contact your doctor immediately. Breastfeeding is generally not recommended during this treatment, as it is unclear whether this medication is excreted in breast milk. Additionally, alcohol consumption should be avoided while using this medication. The safety and efficacy of this drug in children have not been established.
