Mitant 12.5mg Capsule contains the active ingredient Sunitinib. It is categorized as a tyrosine kinase inhibitor, meaning it functions by inhibiting specific enzymes known as tyrosine kinases that play a role in the proliferation and dissemination of cancer cells. This medication is utilized for the treatment of gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GIST), a rare form of cancer that can originate anywhere within the gastrointestinal tract. Additionally, it is prescribed for advanced kidney cancer and pancreatic cancer, specifically pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (PNET). Cancer is characterized by the uncontrolled growth of abnormal cells. It is not advisable for individuals under the age of 18.
