ITP is an autoimmune condition where the immune system attacks and destroys platelets. Platelets are essential blood cells that facilitate clotting and safeguard the walls of blood vessels. A deficiency in platelet levels can lead to significant bleeding and bruising. You may also be evaluated for bleeding in or around your retina, which is the light-sensitive layer of cells located at the back of the eye.

Should you discontinue the use of this tablet, your blood platelet count is likely to decrease again within a few days.
