Thalitero 100mg Capsule is classified as an immunomodulatory agent. Its active component is Thalidomide. This medication is primarily used to treat individuals who have recently been diagnosed with multiple myeloma, a cancer that predominantly affects specific white blood cells known as plasma cells. These cells proliferate uncontrollably and accumulate in the bone marrow, leading to damage to the bones and kidneys. Additionally, it is prescribed for the management of moderate to severe new lesions associated with leprosy, a chronic condition that impacts the skin and nerves, caused by the bacterium Mycobacterium leprae.
Common side effects linked to Thalitero 100mg Capsule may include drowsiness, headaches, dizziness, rashes, pain, fatigue, constipation, nausea, impotence, loss of appetite, fever, and depression. It is important to notify your doctor if these side effects are bothersome or persist.
If you have an allergy to Thalitero 100mg Capsule or any of its components, inform your healthcare provider. Additionally, notify your doctor if you have a history of blood clots, heart attacks, neuropathy (pain in the extremities due to nerve damage), slow heart rate, fluctuations in blood pressure, liver or kidney issues, or viral infections such as HIV, hepatitis B, or varicella zoster. Your physician will assess thyroid function before and during the course of treatment with this medication. Discontinue use of Thalitero 100mg Capsule and seek medical advice immediately if you suspect you are pregnant, experience irregular menstrual cycles, miss a period, notice changes in menstrual bleeding, or have unprotected sexual intercourse. This medication is not recommended for individuals under 18 years of age.
