Sutinat 12.5 Capsule is classified as an ‘antineoplastic agent’ and is utilized in the treatment of gastrointestinal stromal tumors (cancer affecting the stomach, bowel, or esophagus) in patients who do not respond to imatinib (another cancer treatment).
It is also indicated for renal carcinoma (kidney cancer) that has metastasized to other areas of the body and for advanced pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (cancer affecting hormone-producing cells in the pancreas).

Sutinat 12.5 Capsule contains sunitinib, which works by slowing the proliferation of cancer cells through two mechanisms.
It disrupts the function of a protein that encourages cell division, thus reducing the production of cancer cells.
Additionally, it can block angiogenesis, the process by which blood supply is developed for cancer cells.
This action limits the nutrient supply to the cancer cells, ultimately leading to their death.

You should take this medication precisely as directed by your physician.
Common side effects of Sutinat 12.5 Capsule include difficulty in breathing, elevated blood pressure, severe fatigue, swelling due to fluid retention under the skin and around the eyes, and pain or irritation in the mouth.

• Take Sutinat 12.5 Capsule with or without food as advised by your doctor.

• Typically, Sutinat 12.5 Capsule is taken once daily for 28 days, followed by a 2-week break. This cycle is repeated every 6 weeks, as recommended by your doctor. However, always follow your doctor's instructions regarding dosage and duration.

• Swallow the capsule as a whole with a glass of water.

• Do not open, crush or dissolve Sutinat 12.5 Capsule .

Additionally, Sutinat 12.5 Capsule may result in heart issues, so it is important to inform your doctor if you experience severe fatigue, shortness of breath, or swelling in your feet and ankles.

This capsule may also lead to heart rhythm irregularities, so notify your doctor if you feel dizzy or notice any abnormal heartbeats. Caution is advised when using Sutinat 12.5 Capsule in patients with a recent history of blood clots, heart attacks, or strokes, as it may induce chest pain, shortness of breath, difficulty in speaking, weakness on one side of the body, or dizziness.

Patients with aneurysms (weakness in the blood vessel wall), thrombotic microangiopathy (damage to small blood vessels), or liver and kidney issues should also use Sutinat 12.5 Capsule with caution. It may cause inflammation of the pancreas or gallbladder, leading to symptoms like upper abdominal pain, fever, and vomiting, especially in those with a history of pancreatic or gallbladder disorders.

Furthermore, Sutinat 12.5 Capsule may affect thyroid function, so inform your doctor if you experience unusual fatigue or feel colder than others. There is also a risk of skin ulceration (pyoderma gangrenosum) or infection (necrotizing fasciitis), so notify your doctor if you observe signs of infection around a skin injury, such as fever, pain, swelling, redness, or pus or blood drainage from the wound. This medication may reduce effectiveness by causing unwanted side effects.
