Sutinat 50 Capsule is classified as an ‘antineoplastic agent’ and is utilized for the treatment of gastrointestinal stromal tumors (cancer affecting the stomach, bowel, or esophagus) in patients who do not respond to imatinib, another anticancer medication. Additionally, it is prescribed for renal carcinoma (kidney cancer) that has metastasized to other areas of the body, as well as advanced pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (cancer impacting hormone-producing cells in the pancreas).

Sutinat 50 Capsule contains the active ingredient sunitinib. It functions by decelerating the proliferation of cancer cells through two mechanisms. Firstly, it disrupts the activity of a protein that encourages cell division, thereby reducing the production of cancer cells. Secondly, it can inhibit angiogenesis, the process of developing a blood supply to cancer cells. This action restricts the nutrient supply to the cancer cells, ultimately leading to their death.

It is essential to take this medication precisely as directed by your healthcare provider. Common side effects associated with Sutinat 50 Capsule include difficulty in breathing, elevated blood pressure, extreme fatigue, swelling due to fluid retention under the skin and around the eyes, oral pain or irritation, mouth sores, dry mouth, altered taste, upset stomach, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, abdominal discomfort, loss of appetite, reduced thyroid gland activity (hypothyroidism), dizziness, headaches, nosebleeds, back pain, joint pain, pain in the arms and legs, yellowing of the skin, rashes on the palms and soles, skin dryness, cough, fever, and sleep disturbances. It is crucial to notify your doctor immediately if any of these side effects persist or worsen.

Taking Sutinat 50 Capsule is not advisable if you have an allergy to any of its components. Caution is advised when using Sutinat 50 Capsule in patients with hypertension, heart issues, diabetes, liver or kidney disorders, skin conditions, pancreatic or gallbladder issues, a history of blood clots, or aneurysms (weakness in the blood vessel wall).

• Take Sutinat 50 Capsule with or without food as advised by your doctor.• Typically, Sutinat 50 Capsule is taken once daily for 28 days, followed by a 2-week break. This cycle is repeated every 6 weeks, as recommended by your doctor. However, always follow your doctor's instructions regarding dosage and duration.• Swallow the capsule as a whole with a glass of water.• Do not open, crush or dissolve Sutinat 50 Capsule .

Moreover, Sutinat 50 Capsule can cause irregular heart rhythms, so please notify your healthcare provider if you feel dizzy or notice any abnormal heartbeats.

Caution is advised when using Sutinat 50 Capsule in individuals with a recent history of blood clots, heart attacks, or strokes, as it may induce chest pain, shortness of breath, difficulty in speaking, weakness on one side of the body, or dizziness.

Patients with aneurysms (weakness in blood vessel walls), thrombotic microangiopathy (damage to small blood vessels), or liver and kidney issues should also use Sutinat 50 Capsule with caution.

Furthermore, this medication may lead to inflammation of the pancreas or gallbladder, resulting in symptoms such as upper abdominal pain, fever, and vomiting, especially in those with a history of pancreatic or gallbladder disorders.

Sutinat 50 Capsule may also affect the thyroid gland, so inform your doctor if you experience persistent fatigue and feel colder than usual.

There is a risk of skin ulceration (pyoderma gangrenosum) or infection (necrotizing fasciitis) associated with Sutinat 50 Capsule. Therefore, it is crucial to inform your doctor if you observe any signs of infection around a skin injury, such as fever, pain, swelling, redness, or pus or blood drainage from the wound.

However, these side effects are typically reversible upon stopping the medication. If you experience severe skin rashes, particularly those that involve blistering or peeling, contact your doctor immediately, as this may indicate a serious skin condition.

Lastly, Sutinat 50 Capsule may lead to headaches, elevated blood pressure, and vision issues.
