Cabotres 20mg tablet is an antineoplastic medication that contains Cabozantinib as its active ingredient. It falls under the category of tyrosine kinase inhibitors. In adults, it is prescribed for advanced kidney cancer and locally advanced or metastatic differentiated thyroid cancer. Additionally, it is utilized for liver cancer treatment when Sorafenib (an anticancer drug) is ineffective. Typically, this medication is administered alongside Nivolumab for advanced kidney cancer. It is not advisable for individuals under 18 years of age.
Do not take Cabotres 20mg if you have an allergy to Cabozantinib or any of its components. Inform your healthcare provider if you have liver disease, inflammatory bowel disease, hypertension, heart conditions, or diarrhea. Notify your doctor about any history of blood clots in the legs, significant bleeding, aneurysms (inflammation of blood vessels), or tears in the blood vessel wall. Also, inform your physician if you are pregnant or planning to conceive. It is essential to use effective contraception during and for four months after treatment. Discuss any fertility concerns with your healthcare provider.
Before beginning treatment with Cabotres 20mg, inform your doctor if you have a thyroid condition; thyroid function tests must be conducted prior to starting the medication. Remember to inform your physician if you have undergone any surgery, including dental procedures, in the past month. Avoid consuming grapefruit or grapefruit juice during treatment, as they may elevate the medication levels in the bloodstream. This medication contains lactose; if you have any sugar intolerance, please inform your doctor before starting the treatment.
