Ristova 500mg injection contains the active ingredient rituximab. It is utilized for various disease conditions in adults. This medication can be administered alone or in conjunction with other treatments to address non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma (a cancer that impacts white blood cells known as B-lymphocytes) and chronic lymphocytic leukemia (the most prevalent type of cancer affecting B-cells). Additionally, it is indicated for the treatment of moderate-to-severe rheumatoid arthritis (a condition where the immune system attacks the body’s own joint cells) in combination with methotrexate for adults. Other applications include granulomatosis with polyangiitis or microscopic polyangiitis (inflammation of blood vessels primarily affecting the lungs and kidneys) in both adults and children aged 2 years and older. It is also prescribed for moderate to severe pemphigus vulgaris (an autoimmune disorder that leads to painful blisters on the skin and mucous membranes of the mouth, throat, nose, and genitals).
Ristova 500mg injection is classified as an anti-CD20 monoclonal antibody. Avoid using this injection if you are allergic to rituximab or any other components of this medication, have a compromised immune system, or are experiencing any severe active infections. Notify your physician if you have a history of heart disease, heart failure, or respiratory issues before starting treatment. Consult your doctor if you have previously had a hepatitis B infection, as there is a possibility of reactivation in some cases, which can be serious. It is advised to avoid pregnancy and breastfeeding while receiving this injection.
Common side effects associated with Ristova 500mg injection include blood infections, decreased red blood cell count, dizziness, facial and body swelling, itchy skin, diarrhea, increased perspiration, and fluctuations in blood pressure. It is important to use effective contraceptive methods during treatment and for 12 months following the last dose if there is a possibility of becoming pregnant. This medication may lead to severe infusion reactions during or within 24 hours post-administration. Inform your healthcare provider or physician about any adverse reactions you experience.
