Thalimax 50mg Capsule is classified as an immunomodulatory agent. Its active component is Thalidomide. This medication is primarily used to treat individuals who have recently been diagnosed with multiple myeloma, a cancer that predominantly affects specific white blood cells known as plasma cells. These cells proliferate uncontrollably and accumulate in the bone marrow, leading to damage in the bones and kidneys. Additionally, it is prescribed for the management of moderate to severe new lesions associated with leprosy, a chronic condition that impacts the skin and nerves, caused by the bacterium Mycobacterium leprae.

Common side effects linked to Thalimax 50mg Capsule may include drowsiness, headaches, dizziness, skin rashes, pain, fatigue, constipation, nausea, impotence, decreased appetite, fever, and depression. If these side effects are bothersome or persist, please inform your doctor.

Notify your healthcare provider if you have any allergies to Thalimax 50mg Capsule or its components. Additionally, inform your physician if you have a history of blood clots, heart attacks, neuropathy (pain in the extremities due to nerve damage), bradycardia (slow heart rate), fluctuations in blood pressure, liver or kidney issues, or viral infections such as HIV, hepatitis B, or varicella zoster. Your doctor will assess thyroid function before and during your treatment with this medication. If you suspect you are pregnant, experience irregular menstrual cycles, miss a period, notice changes in menstrual bleeding, or have had unprotected sexual intercourse, discontinue Thalimax 50mg Capsule and seek medical advice immediately. This medication is not advised for individuals under 18 years of age.
