Temozad 250mg Capsule contains the active component temozolomide. This medication falls under the category of Antitumor agents. It is utilized for the treatment of brain cancer, specifically glioblastoma multiforme in adults and malignant glioma, which includes glioblastoma multiforme or anaplastic astrocytoma in patients over the age of three. Glioblastoma and anaplastic astrocytoma represent the most prevalent and aggressive forms of brain cancer, characterized by low survival rates. Anaplastic astrocytoma is managed with Temozad 250mg Capsule or radiotherapy following a biopsy, while Glioblastoma multiforme is addressed through a combination of radiotherapy and Temozad 250mg Capsule, which is then continued as maintenance therapy.
The typical side effects associated with Temozad 250mg Capsule may include nausea, vomiting, dizziness, diarrhea, constipation, hair loss, rashes, fatigue, frequent urination, vision and hearing impairments, elevated blood sugar levels, muscle damage, pain in muscles and joints, memory issues, coordination difficulties, infections, sleep disturbances, and weight loss. It is important to inform your doctor if any of these symptoms cause you distress or persist.
Notify your physician if you have an allergy to Temozad 250mg Capsule or any of its components. Prior to commencing treatment with this medication, inform your physician if you have a hepatitis B infection, anemia, low platelet count, reduced levels of RBC and WBC, blood clotting disorders, or any liver or kidney issues. Your physician will regularly monitor your WBC and platelet counts. It is advised to avoid this medication if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
