Tazira Lyo 4gm+0.5gm injection comprises two active components known as Piperacillin and Tazobactam, which are classified under broad-spectrum penicillin antibiotics and beta-lactamase inhibitors. The combination of Piperacillin and Tazobactam is effective in eliminating various harmful bacteria present in the body. When administered together, Piperacillin and Tazobactam enhance efficacy against specific resistant bacterial strains. This medication is indicated for the treatment of bacterial infections affecting the lower respiratory tract, urinary tract, abdomen, skin, or bloodstream in adults and adolescents.

Tazira Lyo 4gm+0.5gm injection is also effective in treating bacterial infections in children aged 2 to 12 years, particularly those affecting the abdomen, such as appendicitis, peritonitis, and gallbladder infections. Furthermore, it is utilized in patients with diminished white blood cell counts and can be beneficial for individuals with compromised immune systems. In cases of severe infections, healthcare providers may prescribe it in conjunction with other antibiotics to effectively combat the pathogens. This medication is contraindicated in children under the age of 2 years due to insufficient data regarding its safety and efficacy in this demographic.

Avoid using Tazira Lyo 4gm+0.5gm injection if you have a known allergy to Piperacillin, Tazobactam, penicillins, cephalosporins, other beta-lactamase inhibitors, or any of its components. Prior to commencing treatment, inform your physician if you have low potassium levels in your blood, liver or kidney problems, or if you are undergoing hemodialysis, as monitoring may be necessary. Your physician may perform regular blood tests throughout the treatment period. If you are on anticoagulants or experience any unexpected bleeding, notify your healthcare provider without delay. Additionally, inform your healthcare provider if you experience seizures or suspect a new or worsening infection during the course of treatment. Be vigilant for signs of haemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis, a condition characterized by excessive white blood cell production, and seek immediate medical attention if you develop fever, swollen lymph nodes, weakness, or lightheadedness.
