Stoplos One 5mg Injection contains zoledronic as its active ingredient. This medication falls under the category of bisphosphonates. It is utilized to lower elevated calcium levels in the blood of adult patients, particularly when these levels are heightened due to tumors. Tumors can hasten the normal process of bone remodeling, leading to an increased release of calcium from the bones. This condition is referred to as tumor-induced hypercalcemia (TIH). Additionally, it is employed to avert bone complications in adult patients suffering from multiple myeloma and bone metastases originating from solid tumors (the spread of cancer from its primary site to the bones), alongside standard cancer treatments.
Stoplos One 5mg Injection is also prescribed to prevent or manage osteoporosis (a condition characterized by thin, weak bones that are prone to fractures) in postmenopausal women. Furthermore, it is indicated for the treatment of osteoporosis in men.
This injection is effective in treating Paget’s disease of bone (a disorder where bones become soft, weak, and may deform, cause pain, or break easily). Other applications include the treatment or prevention of osteoporosis in both men and women who are on glucocorticoids (a type of corticosteroid medication that can lead to osteoporosis).
Do not administer this injection if you have an allergy to zoledronic, any other bisphosphonate, or any components of this medication, and if you are pregnant or nursing. Prior to starting treatment, it is essential to inform your healthcare provider if you have any kidney or liver issues, bone disorders, pain, swelling, or numbness in the jaw.
This medication is not advised for use in adolescents and children under 18 years of age. Zoledronic is not a form of cancer chemotherapy and will not impede or halt the progression of cancer. Nevertheless, it can be utilized to address bone disorders in cancer patients.
