Enfiera 500mg Injection contains rituximab as its active ingredient and is used to treat several conditions in adults. It may be used alone or in combination with other medications to treat non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma (a cancer of B-lymphocytes) and chronic lymphocytic leukemia (a common cancer affecting B-cells). It is also prescribed in combination with methotrexate to treat moderate-to-severe rheumatoid arthritis in adults, where the immune system mistakenly attacks the joints.

Other approved uses include the treatment of granulomatosis with polyangiitis and microscopic polyangiitis—inflammatory diseases affecting blood vessels, primarily in the lungs and kidneys—in both adults and children aged 2 years and older. Additionally, it is used to manage moderate-to-severe pemphigus vulgaris, an autoimmune condition that causes painful blisters on the skin and mucous membranes of the mouth, throat, nose, and genitals.

Enfiera belongs to a class of medicines known as anti-CD20 monoclonal antibodies. You should not receive this injection if you are allergic to rituximab or any of its ingredients, have a weakened immune system, or are suffering from a serious active infection. Inform your doctor if you have a history of heart conditions, heart failure, or breathing issues. Also, let your physician know if you’ve ever had a hepatitis B infection, as this virus can reactivate during treatment and lead to serious complications.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding are not advised during treatment with Enfiera. Effective contraception must be used during therapy and for 12 months after the final dose if you are able to conceive.

Common side effects include blood infections, anemia, dizziness, facial and body swelling, itchy skin, diarrhea, increased sweating, and changes in blood pressure. This medicine can also cause severe infusion reactions, which may occur during or within 24 hours after administration. Inform your healthcare provider immediately if you experience symptoms such as high or low blood pressure, chest pain, headache, difficulty breathing, vomiting, rashes, or throat swelling during or after the infusion.
