Ujvira 160mg Injection is indicated for its use in the following conditions:

Advanced and metastatic breast cancer

Trastuzumab emtansine works through a dual mechanism to effectively target and destroy HER2-positive breast cancer cells. The trastuzumab component of the drug selectively binds to HER2 receptors present on the surface of cancer cells. By attaching to these receptors, it blocks them from receiving essential growth signals, thereby interrupting the signaling pathways that promote cancer cell proliferation.

Once the drug is internalized into the cancer cell, the DM1 (a cytotoxic agent linked to trastuzumab) becomes active. DM1 interferes with the cell's internal structure and function, ultimately inhibiting cell division and leading to the cancer cell’s death. This combination of targeted receptor blockade and intracellular cytotoxicity enhances the drug’s effectiveness while minimizing damage to healthy cells

Ujvira 160mg Injection shall either be administered before or after surgery.
It will be given as an Intravenous infusion for 90 minutes, if well tolerated it shall be administered within 30 minutes for the next doses.
