Wepox 4000 IU Injection contains the active ingredient Recombinant human erythropoietin alfa (epoetin alfa). It belongs to a class of medications known as erythropoiesis-stimulating agents (ESAs). This injection is primarily used to treat anemia resulting from chronic kidney disease (CKD), chemotherapy in cancer patients, or HIV treatment with zidovudine. Additionally, it helps to reduce the need for red blood cell transfusions in individuals who are at high risk of blood loss due to planned surgeries or certain medical procedures.

Wepox 4000 IU Injection should not be administered to individuals who have known hypersensitivity to epoetin alfa or any of its components. It is also contraindicated in patients with uncontrolled hypertension, active thrombotic microangiopathy (TMA), pure red cell aplasia (PRCA), uncontrolled seizures, and in pregnant or breastfeeding women.

Caution is advised when using this medication in people with a history of blood clots, cardiovascular disease, stroke, liver or kidney disorders, thalassemia, sickle cell anemia, myelodysplastic syndromes, leukemia, or other cancers. Use in children under 18 years should be carefully evaluated, and only initiated if the potential benefits outweigh the risks. In elderly patients, close monitoring is recommended to watch for any adverse effects.
