Aggramed 5mg Infusion is classified as an ‘antiplatelet’ medication (blood thinner) that helps prevent blood clots. It is effective in reducing the risk of heart attacks and alleviating chest pain. This infusion is meant to be used alongside unfractionated heparin and aspirin. A blood clot is essentially a mass of blood that transitions from a liquid state to a gel-like or semi-solid form. Clots are formed to halt bleeding resulting from tissue damage. While blood clots play a crucial role in stopping bleeding, they can be detrimental when they form abnormally within blood vessels, obstructing blood flow to vital organs such as the brain, heart, or lungs.
Aggramed 5mg Infusion contains Tirofiban, a platelet aggregation inhibitor that functions by preventing blood cells (platelets) from clumping together to create blood clots. Consequently, it inhibits the formation of blood clots.
Administration of Aggramed 5mg Infusion will be carried out by a healthcare professional; self-administration is not advised. Occasionally, Aggramed 5mg Infusion may lead to common side effects, including bleeding under the skin at the injection site or into a muscle, resulting in swelling, bleeding post-surgery, traces of blood in stool or urine, headaches, or nausea. Most of these side effects do not necessitate medical intervention and typically resolve on their own over time. However, if side effects persist or worsen, it is important to consult your doctor.

Pregnant or breastfeeding women should notify their doctor before receiving Aggramed 5mg Infusion. It is advisable to avoid alcohol while using Aggramed 5mg Infusion, as it may heighten the risk of gastrointestinal bleeding. If you have experienced a stroke or internal bleeding within the past 30 days, refrain from receiving Aggramed 5mg Infusion.
