Calpsor Lotion is classified as an ‘antipsoriatic agent’ primarily utilized for the treatment of psoriasis. Psoriasis is a condition characterized by the formation of raised red patches and silver-colored scaly areas on the skin. These scaly patches consist of dead skin cells that typically shed from the skin unnoticed.
The active ingredient in Calpsor Lotion is calcipotriol, also referred to as calcipotriene, which is a synthetic derivative of Vitamin D. This lotion functions by decreasing the excessive production of skin cells, thereby alleviating the inflamed and scaly regions.
It is essential to use this medication as directed by your healthcare provider. Calpsor Lotion is generally considered safe for use. However, some individuals may experience common side effects such as itching, redness, a stinging sensation, dryness, and rashes. These side effects are usually not serious and tend to resolve on their own over time. If any of these effects persist for an extended period, it is advisable to consult your physician.
While using Calpsor Lotion, avoid contact with your eyes, nose, or mouth. If the cream accidentally comes into contact with these areas, rinse thoroughly with water. Inform your doctor of your medical history, especially if you have any allergies to Calpsor Lotion or its ingredients. Additionally, let your doctor know if you have a history of liver or kidney diseases, hypercalcemia (elevated calcium levels in the blood), or hypervitaminosis D (excessive Vitamin D levels in the blood). Pregnant and breastfeeding women should only use Calpsor Lotion after proper consultation and with caution. This lotion is not recommended for children under the age of 12.
