Casfung 50 Injection is an antifungal medication. It is used in the treatment of severe fungal infections. It kills the fungi that cause these infections and thus provides relief.

Casfung 50 Injection is administered as an injection by a healthcare professional. Kindly do not self-administer. Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better. Your doctor may monitor your liver function regularly during treatment.

Casfung 50 Injection may lead to a few common side effects like rash, decreased potassium level in the blood, fever, increased liver enzymes, chills, and diarrhea. You may also notice some injection site reactions like pain, swelling, or redness. Inform your doctor if these side effects persist for a longer duration. Please consult your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to conceive, or breastfeeding.

Casfung Powder For Injection is used for the treatment of serious fungal infections in your tissues or organs (invasive candidiasis) and fungal infections in your nose, nasal sinuses or lungs (invasive aspergillosis) in children, adolescents and adults.
It is also used to treat suspected fungal infections if you have a fever and a low white cell count that has not improved on treatment with an antibiotic.

Casfung 50 Injection kills fungus by preventing them from making their protective covering.

Some medicines can affect the way Casfung Powder For Injection works or this medicine itself can reduce the effectiveness of other medicines taken at the same time.
Tell your doctor about all medicines, supplements or herbals you are currently taking or might take to avoid any possible interaction.
Particular care should be taken if you are taking cyclosporine or tacrolimus (used to help prevent organ transplant rejection or to suppress your immune system), some HIV medicines such as efavirenz or nevirapine, phenytoin or carbamazepine (used for the treatment of fits/seizures), dexamethasone (a steroid used for the treatment of inflammations) and rifampicin (an antibiotic).

Overdose

Missed a Dose

It is unlikely that a dose of Casfung Powder For Injection will be missed if you are monitored in a healthcare setup. However, if you have missed taking a dose of the injection, inform the doctor or nurse immediately.
