Cipenmet 2.5gm Injection is a combination of two medicines: Cefepime and Enmetazobactam. Cefepime is an antibiotic from the cephalosporin group, and Enmetazobactam helps make the antibiotic more effective by blocking certain enzymes that bacteria use to protect themselves. This medicine belongs to a group of drugs called broad-spectrum antibiotics and is used to treat serious infections like complicated urinary tract infections (cUTIs), lung infections such as hospital-acquired pneumonia, and other severe infections caused by resistant bacteria.

It is usually given in hospitals by a healthcare professional through an injection. Like all medicines, it may cause some side effects such as nausea, diarrhea, headache, or pain at the injection site. Cipenmet 2.5gm Injection should be used exactly as directed by the doctor. It may not be safe for people who have kidney problems unless the dose is adjusted. It should not be used by anyone who is allergic to cephalosporins, penicillins, or similar antibiotics. Complicated urinary tract infections (cUTIs), including pyelonephritis, in adults.

The other part helps the first one work better by blocking the defense tools some bacteria use to fight off treatment.

Together, they make a strong team that kills even those bacteria that have become hard to treat with regular antibiotics. This helps clear up infections in the urinary tract, lungs, and blood. It's especially useful in hospitals where infections can be more severe and resistant to standard treatments. This medicine is given by a doctor, usually through a drip, and is carefully dosed to suit each patient’s condition.

Anticoagulants (e.g., warfarin): May affect blood clotting levels and increase bleeding risk.
Valproic acid: May lower blood levels of valproic acid, potentially reducing seizure control.

Cipenmet 2.5gm Injection is available as an intravenous injection and is administered by a healthcare professional in a hospital setting. The recommended dose for adults is 2g/0.5g every 8 hours, infused over 2 hours. It is not taken with food and should never be self-administered. Dosage may vary based on kidney function and severity of infection. Always follow the doctor’s instructions closely.

Store in a refrigerator (2°C – 8°C). Do not freeze. Protect from light.
Once reconstituted and diluted, use immediately or within the recommended time as per the label.
If a dose is missed, contact your healthcare provider. Do not double up to make up for a missed dose.
In case of an overdose, seek emergency medical attention. Symptoms may include confusion, tremors, or seizures.
