DASANAT 20MG

Dasanat 20mg tablet contains the active ingredient Dasatinib. It is indicated for use in adults and children over one year old who have Chronic Myeloid Leukemia. This medication is utilized to treat newly diagnosed Philadelphia chromosome-positive (Ph+) chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) during the chronic phase, as well as Ph+ acute lymphoblastic leukemia in patients who have not responded to other treatments. Chronic Myeloid Leukemia is a type of blood cancer characterized by the excessive production of white blood cells due to changes in the Philadelphia chromosome. Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia is the most prevalent form of blood cancer in children, where the lymphocytes, a type of white blood cell, proliferate rapidly and have an extended lifespan.

Common side effects associated with Dasanat 20mg tablet include diarrhea, headache, cough, rash, nausea, fatigue, vomiting, muscle pain, weakness, decreased appetite, and fluctuations in blood pressure. If these side effects are bothersome or persist, please inform your doctor.

Notify your doctor if you have an allergy to Dasatinib or any of its components. Prior to commencing treatment with this medication, it is important to inform your physician if you have any liver or heart issues, respiratory problems, chest pain, a persistent cough, hepatitis B infection, or any bleeding disorders. This medication may lead to a significant decrease in the levels of platelets, white blood cells (WBC), or red blood cells (RBC) in the bloodstream. Ensure that your physician regularly monitors your blood levels. Additionally, inform your healthcare provider about all medications you are currently taking, including prescription drugs, over-the-counter medications, vitamins, antacids, and herbal supplements. This medication is not recommended for children under one year of age.
