Femara 2.5 mg Tablet is prescribed for the treatment of breast cancer in postmenopausal women (the end of menstrual cycles). Breast cancer is a form of cancer that arises in the cells of the breast, influenced by the female hormone estrogen.
The active ingredient in Femara 2.5 mg Tablet is ‘Letrozole’, which functions by inhibiting the aromatase enzyme responsible for producing estrogen.
Occasionally, Femara 2.5 mg Tablet may lead to common side effects such as hypercholesterolemia (elevated cholesterol levels), fatigue, weakness, increased perspiration, malaise, joint pain, and hot flashes (a sensation of warmth). If you experience any of these side effects persistently, do not hesitate to consult your doctor.
It is important to take Femara 2.5 mg Tablet for the duration prescribed by your doctor, based on your medical condition. It can be ingested with or without food, accompanied by a glass of water. Do not chew, bite, or crush the tablet.
Refrain from using Femara 2.5 mg Tablet if you have an allergy to it, or if you are pregnant or nursing. This medication may induce drowsiness and dizziness, so only drive if you feel alert. Additionally, avoid alcohol consumption while taking Femara 2.5 mg Tablet, as it may enhance drowsiness and dizziness.
