Glioz 20mg Capsule contains temozolomide as its active ingredient and belongs to a group of medicines called antitumor agents. It is primarily used for the treatment of specific types of brain cancer, particularly glioblastoma multiforme in adults and malignant gliomas—including glioblastoma multiforme and anaplastic astrocytoma—in patients over the age of three. These are among the most aggressive and fast-growing brain tumors, often associated with a poor prognosis. Treatment approaches vary slightly between the two conditions: anaplastic astrocytoma may be managed with Glioz 20mg Capsule alone or in combination with radiotherapy following a biopsy, while glioblastoma multiforme typically involves concurrent radiotherapy and Glioz, followed by continued use of the capsule as maintenance therapy.
As with many anticancer medications, Glioz 20mg Capsule may cause a range of side effects. The more common ones include nausea, vomiting, dizziness, diarrhea, constipation, hair thinning or loss, skin rashes, fatigue, frequent urination, vision and hearing disturbances, elevated blood sugar, muscle and joint pain or damage, memory impairment, coordination difficulties, sleep disturbances, infections, and unintended weight loss. It’s important to inform your doctor if any of these effects become persistent or bothersome.
Before beginning treatment with Glioz, you should inform your healthcare provider if you have any allergies to temozolomide or its components. Also disclose if you have a history of hepatitis B, anemia, low platelet or red/white blood cell counts, any bleeding or clotting issues, or existing liver or kidney conditions. Your physician will closely monitor your blood cell counts, particularly white blood cells and platelets, throughout the treatment.
