Globugold 5gm Injection 100ml is an immunostimulant medication classified under immunoglobulin derivatives, containing the active ingredient Human Normal Immunoglobulin. It is primarily prescribed as a replacement therapy for individuals suffering from primary immunodeficiency disorders (PIDs)—conditions in which the immune system is unable to produce adequate antibodies to effectively combat infections. In addition to its role in immune support, Globugold is also used in certain autoimmune and inflammatory disorders to help regulate and modulate immune responses, thereby reducing harmful inflammation and suppressing inappropriate immune activity.
This medication is contraindicated in individuals who have known hypersensitivity or allergies to human immunoglobulin or any of its components. If you notice symptoms such as rashes, itching, or any other skin-related reactions, discontinue use immediately and consult your doctor. For patients with selective IgA deficiency, there is a potential risk of developing antibodies against IgA, which may lead to severe allergic reactions. Hence, in such cases, the administration of Globugold should be done with extreme caution, or it may be completely avoided based on the physician’s assessment.
After receiving Globugold 5gm Injection 100ml, some individuals may experience a temporary drop in neutrophils (a type of white blood cell), a condition known as neutropenia, which generally resolves on its own within about a week without needing specific treatment.
The use of live attenuated vaccines (such as measles, mumps, rubella, or chickenpox vaccines) should be avoided for a certain period after receiving Globugold, as immunoglobulin can interfere with the vaccine’s effectiveness. Discuss your vaccination schedule with your doctor if you’re receiving this medication.
Overdosage of this injection may lead to fluid overload, especially in patients with existing cardiac, renal, or liver conditions. Such individuals must be closely monitored during and after infusion. Your doctor may adjust the dosage or infusion rate and will likely conduct regular blood tests to monitor your body’s response and avoid any potential complications.
If you are pregnant, planning to conceive, or are currently breastfeeding, it is important to discuss the potential risks and benefits of this treatment with your physician before starting therapy with Globugold.
