Infimab 100 mg Injection is a powerful antirheumatic medication that falls under the category of TNF (tumour necrosis factor) alfa inhibitors. It contains the active ingredient Infliximab, a monoclonal antibody specifically designed to target and neutralize TNF-alpha, a protein in the body that plays a central role in causing inflammation. This injection is primarily prescribed for managing a range of chronic inflammatory and autoimmune conditions. These include rheumatoid arthritis, a disorder that causes painful joint inflammation; Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis, both of which are inflammatory bowel diseases; ankylosing spondylitis, a type of arthritis that primarily affects the spine; psoriatic arthritis, which affects both the skin and joints; and psoriasis, a skin condition marked by red, scaly patches.

This medication is not recommended for individuals who are allergic to Infliximab or any of the other components of the injection. It must also be avoided by individuals who are hypersensitive to mouse-derived proteins, as Infliximab is partially developed using mouse cells. Infections pose another major concern—if you have an active infection such as tuberculosis (TB), pneumonia, or sepsis, taking Infimab can worsen these conditions because it suppresses immune function. Therefore, a thorough medical evaluation is essential before initiating treatment.

It is crucial to inform your doctor if you are currently pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or suspect you may be pregnant. Infimab should only be used during pregnancy when clearly needed and prescribed by your doctor. If this medication was administered during pregnancy, you must notify your pediatrician before your newborn receives any vaccinations, as the immune system may still be affected. Furthermore, if you are breastfeeding or planning to breastfeed, speak with your doctor, especially if your last dose was administered within the past six months. This is important to minimize any potential risk to the nursing infant, as traces of the drug could remain in the body and impact the child’s immune system.
