Larinject 500mg injection contains Ferric carboxymaltose as its active ingredient. This medication is classified as an iron replacement product. It is utilized for the treatment of iron-deficiency anemia (a reduction in red blood cells due to insufficient iron levels in the body) in both adults and pediatric patients who are unable to tolerate oral iron or when oral iron supplements prove ineffective. Additionally, it is indicated for treating iron deficiency anemia in adults suffering from chronic kidney disease who are not undergoing dialysis. This medication is not advised for pediatric patients under one year of age.
Avoid using this medicine if you have an allergy to ferric carboxymaltose or any other components of this medication. Do not administer Larinject 500mg injection if you have anemia not related to iron deficiency, an iron overload (excess iron in the body), or issues with iron utilization. Notify your healthcare provider if you have rheumatoid arthritis, severe asthma, eczema, infections, liver issues, or low phosphate levels in your blood. Improper administration of this injection may lead to irritation and persistent discoloration at the injection site.
Before starting treatment with Larinject 500mg injection, inform your healthcare provider if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. The most frequently reported side effects include nausea, hypertension, flushing, reactions at the injection site, skin reactions, vomiting, and dizziness. Inform your physician if you have had severe allergic (hypersensitive) reactions to other injectable iron formulations.
