Laviat 5mg Capsule belongs to the important group of medicines known as Immunomodulatory agents. It contains the potent active ingredient Lenalidomide. This medication is specifically indicated to treat adults diagnosed with multiple myeloma, mantle cell lymphoma, myelodysplastic syndrome, and follicular lymphoma. Multiple myeloma refers to the cancerous progression of plasma cells that are predominantly found in the bone marrow. These abnormal cells accumulate in the bone marrow and divide uncontrollably. While this type of cancer cannot be entirely cured, its symptoms can certainly be significantly alleviated. Myelodysplastic Syndrome encompasses a group of various blood and bone marrow diseases where the blood cells become abnormal and consequently do not function properly. Mantle cell lymphoma is a less common but serious type of cancer that primarily affects the lymph nodes. Follicular lymphoma is characterized as a slow-growing cancer that impacts the B cells within the immune system.
