Leutero 50mg Injection contains Leucovorin calcium, an active ingredient that is chemically related to folic acid, a vitamin. It falls under the category of folic acid analogs. This injection is utilized to mitigate the adverse effects of methotrexate when treating specific cancer types. Additionally, it is administered to individuals who have unintentionally overdosed on methotrexate or similar medications. Furthermore, it is used alongside other anticancer drugs to manage colorectal cancer, which originates in the colon or rectum. Other applications include addressing anemia resulting from insufficient folic acid levels in the body.
Do not use Leutero 50mg Injection if you are allergic to Leucovorin calcium, calcium folinate, or any other components of this medication, or if you have certain forms of anemia (such as pernicious anemia or megaloblastic anemia) characterized by a deficiency of vitamin B12. Prior to starting treatment, it is essential to inform your doctor if you have anemia, or issues related to your kidneys, heart, or liver. Additionally, notify your physician if you are taking any medications for seizure management. If you experience symptoms such as wheezing, difficulty breathing, skin rash, itching or hives, or swelling of the lips, face, or tongue, please inform your doctor immediately.
