Luporal capsule consists of a combination of two drugs known as Tegafur and Uracil. This anti-cancer medication falls under the category of pyrimidine analogs. It is prescribed as a first-line treatment for metastatic colorectal cancer, often in conjunction with other anti-cancer therapies. Cancer is characterized by the uncontrolled and abnormal proliferation of cells. This medication is not advised for use in adolescents and children. It is important to avoid this medicine if you are pregnant or nursing.

Do not use a Luporal capsule if you have an allergy to Tegafur, Uracil, or any other components of this medication. Colorectal cancer

Luporal capsule consists of a blend of two chemotherapy agents: tegafur and uracil. Tegafur is taken up into the bloodstream, where it is transformed into the active drug 5FU in the liver, and subsequently absorbed by tumor cells. Inside these cells, an enzyme exists that degrades the 5FU. Uracil plays a role in inhibiting the breakdown of 5FU, allowing it to remain in the cancer cells for an extended period. This action hinders the growth and reproduction of cancer cells, thereby aiding in the destruction of the tumor.
