Meroplan 500mg Injection is an antibiotic medication in the carbapenems category, containing the active ingredient Meropenem. It is used to treat various bacterial infections caused by susceptible organisms. This injection also treats skin, lung, urine, and gynecological infections. Mostly, it can be used during the prevention of surgical site infections.

This drug is mainly contraindicated in individuals with known hypersensitivity or allergic reactions to other beta-lactam antibiotics, such as penicillins or cephalosporins. If you have experienced severe diarrhea after taking other antibiotics, it is important to inform your physician. Meroplan 500mg Injection can reduce the serum concentrations of valproic acid, a medication used to treat seizures and certain mental health conditions. It can lead to decreased effectiveness of valproic acid. If you take valproic acid, your healthcare provider may need to adjust the dose or consider alternative treatments.

Before starting treatment with Meroplan 500mg Injection, it’s necessary to inform your physician about any pre-existing medical conditions you have, such as epilepsy (seizures), kidney or liver problems, or if you are on a salt-controlled diet. During treatment, your doctor may recommend blood tests to monitor your blood cell count and kidney function.
