Ninlib 150mg capsule is an antineoplastic medication that contains Nilotinib as its active ingredient. It is classified as a tyrosine kinase inhibitor. This drug is prescribed for the treatment of Philadelphia chromosome-positive chronic myeloid leukemia (Ph-positive CML), a type of blood cancer characterized by the abnormal production of white blood cells (WBC). It is indicated for both adult and pediatric patients who are newly diagnosed with Chronic Myeloid Leukemia (CML) or those experiencing adverse effects from prior treatments. Furthermore, it is also utilized for patients who no longer respond to previous therapies, including Imatinib.
Do not use this medication if you have an allergy to Nilotinib or any of its other components. Inform your healthcare provider if you have a history of heart issues (such as heart attacks or abnormal electrical signals), chest pain, strokes, or claudication (a condition affecting blood flow in the legs). Additionally, notify your doctor if you have liver or pancreatic disorders, or if you are experiencing low levels of potassium or magnesium. It is essential to disclose all medications you are taking, particularly those aimed at lowering blood cholesterol. Make sure to inform your doctor about any underlying conditions, especially if you have or have ever had a hepatitis B infection, as this medication may reactivate HPV, which can be life-threatening in certain situations. Avoid consuming grapefruit or grapefruit juice. Also, inform your doctor if you have a sugar intolerance, as this medication contains lactose.
Throughout your treatment, your doctor may perform regular blood tests to assess liver and pancreatic function, as well as the levels of blood cells (WBC, RBC, platelets). They will also monitor your heart condition (specifically for QT interval prolongation), electrolytes, and the levels of sugar and fats to evaluate how well Ninlib 150mg is being tolerated. Notify your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding. It is important to use effective birth control while undergoing treatment with this medication.
