Piclib 125 mg Capsule is a form of targeted cancer therapy that contains the active ingredient palbociclib. This medication is used in the treatment of hormone receptor-positive, human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2)-negative advanced or metastatic breast cancer—a type of breast cancer that has spread to other parts of the body. Cancer occurs when cells grow and divide uncontrollably. Palbociclib works by inhibiting the activity of proteins (CDK4 and CDK6) involved in cell division, thereby slowing or stopping the growth of cancer cells.

Common side effects of Piclib 125 mg Capsule may include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, fatigue, hair thinning or loss, dry skin, skin rashes, increased risk of infections, nosebleeds, decreased appetite, mouth and lip sores, altered taste, blurred vision, dry eyes, and excessive tearing. It can also lead to low blood cell counts, which may increase the risk of infections or bleeding. Notify your doctor if any of these side effects become severe or do not go away.

Before starting this medication, inform your doctor if you are allergic to palbociclib or any of the capsule’s components. You should also disclose if you have a history of infections, liver or kidney disorders, or sugar intolerances. Seek immediate medical attention if you experience symptoms such as a dry cough, chest pain, or difficulty breathing, as these may signal serious lung inflammation.

It is essential to inform your healthcare provider about all other medications you are taking, including prescription drugs, over-the-counter medicines, supplements, and herbal products, to avoid possible interactions.

Use effective contraception during the course of treatment and for at least three weeks after the final dose to avoid pregnancy, as this medication can harm an unborn baby. Piclib 125 mg Capsule is not recommended for use in children or adolescents under 18 years of age

For instance, the concurrent use of Piclib with CYP3A4 inhibitors like fentanyl may increase the risk of fentanyl toxicity. Your healthcare provider may need to adjust the dosage or monitor for potential side effects to ensure safe and effective treatment

Take Piclib 125 mg Capsule strictly as directed by your doctor. It is important to take this medication once daily at the same time each day, preferably with food to help improve absorption. Swallow the capsule whole with a full glass of water—do not crush, break, or chew it, as this may affect how the medicine is released and absorbed in the body
