Relipoietin 10K

Relipoietin 10K IU Injection contains the active ingredient recombinant human erythropoietin alfa (epoetin alfa). It belongs to a class of medications known as erythropoiesis-stimulating agents (ESAs). This injection is primarily used to treat anemia resulting from chronic kidney disease (CKD), chemotherapy for cancer, or HIV treatment involving zidovudine. It also helps minimize the need for red blood cell transfusions in patients at risk of significant blood loss due to planned surgeries or medical procedures.

Relipoietin 10K IU should not be administered to individuals with a known allergy or hypersensitivity to epoetin alfa or any of its components. It is also contraindicated in patients with uncontrolled high blood pressure (hypertension), active thrombotic microangiopathy (TMA), pure red cell aplasia (PRCA), or uncontrolled seizure disorders. Additionally, this medication is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Use of this injection should be approached with caution in individuals with a medical history of blood clots, heart disease, stroke, kidney or liver disorders, thalassemia, sickle cell anemia, leukemia, myelodysplastic syndrome, or other cancers. In pediatric patients under 18 years of age, the risks and benefits must be carefully weighed before initiating treatment. Older adults may be more susceptible to side effects and should be monitored closely during therapy.
