Reviro 300mg Tablet consists of the active substance called Tenofovir Disoproxil Fumarate, which belongs to the crucial class of antiretroviral or antiviral medicines. This medication is effectively used to treat both HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) and HBV (hepatitis B virus) infections. It functions as a nucleotide reverse transcriptase inhibitor (NRTI), working by inhibiting specific enzymes (HIV reverse transcriptase and hepatitis B DNA polymerase) that are critically important for viral replication. It should always be taken in combination with other medicines to effectively treat HIV infection. This tablet is suitable for adults and adolescents aged from 12 to 18 years. For HIV treatment, this medicine is specifically given to adolescents who have already been medicated with other HIV medicines which are no longer fully effective due to developing resistance or have caused undesirable side effects. It is important to note that this tablet has not been studied in patients over 65 years of age.
You should not consume this drug if you have experienced hypersensitivity reactions to Tenofovir disoproxil fumarate or any of its ingredients. During the Reviro 300mg Tablet treatment, your doctor may periodically monitor your blood counts, bone mineral density, and liver and kidney parameters to prevent any serious complications. It is crucial to report to your doctor if you have had a history of heart failure, pancreatitis, bone disease (such as osteonecrosis, which is the death of bone tissue), fractures, chronic hepatitis B or C liver problems, or kidney problems.
Reviro 300mg Tablet should not be given to adolescents who have existing kidney problems. If you have lactose intolerance, you must notify your doctor before starting the treatment. It is also vital to inform your doctor if you are planning to get pregnant, are currently pregnant, or think you may be pregnant. Breastfeeding is not recommended due to the potential transmission of HIV. Patients should use effective contraception to avoid the transmission of HIV infection.
