Revofer Injection is classified as an anti-anaemic medication designed to address iron deficiency anaemia in individuals who cannot tolerate oral iron supplements, have non-dialysis dependent chronic kidney disease, or need a rapid increase in iron levels. Iron deficiency anaemia, characterized by a shortage of red blood cells due to insufficient iron in the body, results in inadequate oxygen transport to various tissues.
This injection contains ‘ferric carboxymaltose’, which serves as an iron source, facilitating oxygen transport throughout the body and aiding in red blood cell production. Consequently, Revofer Injection plays a crucial role in managing anaemia and supports several essential bodily functions.
Administration of Revofer Injection should be performed by a qualified healthcare provider; self-administration is not advised. Some patients may encounter common side effects, including nausea, flushing, dizziness, elevated blood pressure, and reduced phosphorus levels in the blood. Most of these effects are mild and typically resolve on their own over time. However, if these side effects persist, it is recommended to consult your doctor.
Before beginning treatment with Revofer Injection, inform your doctor about any prescription or over-the-counter medications, as well as any herbal supplements you may be taking. If you have a known allergy to any ingredients in Revofer Injection, please notify your healthcare provider. It is also advisable to consult a doctor prior to using Revofer Injection if you are pregnant or nursing. This injection is not advised for children under 14 years of age, as its safety and efficacy have not been confirmed.
