Sevom 800mg Tablet contains an active ingredient called Sevelamer. This medication belongs to the class known as phosphate binders. It is specifically used to effectively manage hyperphosphatemia (a condition characterized by abnormally high blood phosphate levels) in adult patients who are undergoing dialysis (either hemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis), as well as in patients with chronic kidney disease who have elevated serum phosphorus levels. This tablet should be used in conjunction with other treatments, such as calcium supplements and vitamin D, to help prevent bone disease. It is important to understand that persistently high blood phosphorus levels can lead to calcification, a process where hard deposits form and stiffen blood vessels, consequently affecting proper blood flow.

You should not consume Sevom 800mg Tablet if you are allergic to Sevelamer or any of its other ingredients. It is also important to avoid consuming this medicine if you have low levels of phosphate or if you have a bowel obstruction. Before taking this medicine, it is crucial to notify your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to get pregnant, or think you may be pregnant, or if you are breastfeeding. Prior to starting treatment, you must also let your doctor know if you have trouble swallowing or if your stomach and bowel have problems moving food effectively.

Additionally, you should inform your doctor if you currently have bowel inflammation or have had a major stomach or bowel surgery in the past. Sevom 800mg Tablet is not recommended for children under six years old due to the lack of sufficient studies on its safety and effectiveness in that particular age group. Finally, if your doctor has previously advised you about a sugar intolerance, please consult your doctor before taking this medication, as it contains lactose.
