Tenof 300mg tablet contains Tenofovir Disoproxil Fumarate, an active substance classified as an antiretroviral or antiviral medicine. It is used to treat infections with HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) and HBV (hepatitis B virus). As a nucleotide reverse transcriptase inhibitor (NRTI), it works by inhibiting essential viral enzymes (HIV reverse transcriptase and hepatitis B DNA polymerase) that are crucial for virus replication. For HIV infection, it should always be taken in combination with other medicines. This tablet is suitable for adults and adolescents aged 12 to 18 years.
