Zoonovac V Injection consists of a Purified Vero Cell Rabies vaccine, which is designed to prevent and treat rabies both before and after exposure to the virus. This vaccine is produced by cultivating the rabies virus in Vero cells and subsequently purifying it to eliminate any unwanted substances. The purified virus is then inactivated, meaning it can no longer cause disease but can still provoke an immune response. Pre-exposure vaccination is recommended for travelers, individuals in high-risk jobs, and children residing in areas where rabies is common. Post-exposure prophylaxis involves immediate wound care and vaccination. This vaccine is derived from the Pitman-Moore strain of the rabies virus cultivated in Vero cells.
Rabies is a severe, progressive illness caused by the rabies virus, which is part of the Rhabdoviridae family. It is transmitted through the saliva of infected animals via bites or scratches. Although this infection is invariably fatal, it is entirely preventable with prompt action and the appropriate use of available vaccines, immunoglobulins, or monoclonal antibodies. Individuals who have a known hypersensitivity to the Zoonovac V Injection or any of its components should refrain from receiving it. If a person is currently suffering from a moderate to severe illness, it may be wise to postpone vaccination until they have fully recovered. However, a mild illness, such as a common cold, typically does not hinder the administration of the vaccine.
